Question of the Day

Question of the Day

Why do women write?

Do you feel like I do? I believe that we, as women, write because there are so many things that weigh upon our hearts. We write about the deepest, darkest times; we write about the happy joy-filled times. We write when we're sad and happy. We write when we're angry or afraid. We write when we're pleased or excited.

As a poet, I write about the feelings in my heart and the hearts of my 'characters'.

As a novelist, I write about people I've dreamed up or observed.

As a short story writer, I write about contained situations.

As a non-fiction writer, I write what I observe or research.

This is why I write.

Women, why do you write?
